The [to]BREAK project

The Japanese-German art- and cultural project [to]BREAK was initiated at short notice to deal with the catastrophes in Japan in March 2011 from the perspective of arts.

The exhibition could be seen in „Christian Jensen Kolleg“ Breklum at the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein/Northern Germany in spring 2011.

Japanese artists have sent digital data of their works and thereby form the basis of the project. The artworks (paintings, grafic arts and photography) were not systematically selected, but shall represent a spontaneous reaction to the exceptional circumstances in Japan, corresponding to the character of the project.

German artists responded to the Japanese artworks with their own works.

Now, one year after the catastrophes in Japan,  [to]BREAK approaches again the public with new artistic reactions.

Exhibition in Hamburgs main church Sankt Petri from 11th March until 1st April, 2012.
